to me it's really like it is problematic and I want to work with you because I like you and I feel like there's so much that we can agree on but I think that this is, I do think this is like the wrong, this is going down the wrong path because James can't properly define yet what is Australian but I think what he can do is say that your definition excludes someone like me from being Australian.

I think one of the problems we've had is that we've introduced immigrants at such a great scale that it's been incredibly disruptive.

There's been no obligation to assimilate or integrate, no English language requirement.

I would ask you the Irish that came in the global financial crisis.

So in the mid to late 2000s, we had an influx of Irish people because their economy was tanking and they wanted to come here.

They came as backpackers and then they switched to 457 visa holders.

Then they became permanent residents.

So the same thing that Indians are doing now, the Irish are doing in huge numbers in the mid 2000s.

Should we send them home?
