I have created a life to give me freedom and I'm wholly unfree from it.
And so that began like, dude, what if I just enjoyed getting up in the morning because I'm being productive.
I feel better when I do breathing exercises.
That's like reset my nervous system in a powerful way.
I feel better when I exercise.
I feel better when I'm laughing and hanging out and being goofy with my kids and annoying them.
I like seeing my wife and having long hugs in the morning.
Like that gives me a better life.
And so getting morning sunlight is a must.
And so those things have given me a freer, better life, a healthier life overall.
I think structure based on values is important.
Here's where morning structure is important, I think.
You start your morning keeping your promises to yourself.
And there's something profound about I can count on me to do the things I said I was going to do.
And I think a lot of us run through life looking out at other people and saying, well, they never, and why didn't this, and you need to make me feel a certain way.
And you become unanchored because your body doesn't trust you.
You don't keep your own promises.
And that's where that old, I forgot the general, but he gave that speech and he's like, make your bed.
Like nobody can take away that from you.
You got out of bed and you made your bed.
