You want it now.
So do you know how you're going to get an ice cream cone?
Second thing, what are you going to do on any given Tuesday at 1030?
Sounds really crazy, right?
But when we think about retirement planning, old age planning, we think about the big things that we're going to do.
I've got so much I'm going to do.
But, you know, believe it or not, research, imagine somebody got money for this, did research and found out that Tuesday apparently is the most boring day of the year.
Look, most of us don't want to have breakfast with anyone.
Just give me my coffee and leave me alone.
The bottom line is, is that by 1030 in the morning, all of a sudden you now need to structure your life, whether it was work, family, children.
Frankly, if you're no longer a caregiver, you had structure, you had things to do.
Now at 1030 on Tuesday, the average couple over age 65 watches upwards of four to five hours of TV per day.
Oh, wow.
So that notion that we're all going to be cruising and doing all this fun stuff, again, not totally incorrect, but there's a lot of Tuesdays out there.
Third question, if you will, who's going to change your light bulbs?
Sounds, again, really silly.
But I want you to start making a list.
And I want that person who's listening to me right now, start making a list of all the things that you take for granted, that you do every day, maybe for yourself, for your spouse, your partner, or for a loved one, taking out the trash.
Making a meal, changing a light bulb.
And look, as a guy, I do have to confess that I do want to climb the ladder and change the light bulb.
