And you're not less of a sexual person.
You know, that's a huge message.
Like for me, I'm not curvy.
And so it took me a while to realize my sexuality isn't what my body looks like.
It's an aspect of who God has created me that is expressed bodily, but it's not defined bodily.
What would you say is one message that you would give to, let's say, the majority Christian culture about how to be sensitive to unique issues that women of color are dealing with, particularly within the church?
Dawn, let me ask you, just coming off of what you said.
So we're at a conference, and we're doing sexual discipleship training.
So I'm going to put you on the spot.

What would you add to it that I'm missing as a white woman who grew up in a white church?
You guys didn't kiss dating goodbye or anything?
Now, that's very much the purity movement, but it wasn't packaged the way.
Well, as I talk with these two friends, I realize that we have differences, but we also have so much in common.
And I'm grateful for Dawn and Denisa for the wisdom and the humor.
I just love hanging out with them.
God has really gifted these two ladies to work through confusing and painful messages around our sexuality and how to apply that to specific cultural contexts.
