I've done the very best I can with the tools that I've been given.
I'm really proud of some of the achievements we've been able to to get over the line.
People said to me when I started, you're never going to be able to get GPs to take collective action.
You're never going to get GPs to vote in a referendum.
But actually, you know, we've had three referenda.
We had March 24, where over 19,000 voted, over 99%.
In the July, the non-statutory ballot saw partners turn out at 68%, which is really good.
voting ninety-eight point three percent to embark on collective action that was really more than I could have ever imagined or hoped.
I was delighted.
Just recently, back in March again,
Another referendum for a very different reason.
Almost 17,000 GPs, again voting 99%.
So I think we've changed that narrative that you can act collectively in general practice.
It requires effort and work and nuance because we're all different in our different spheres of what's locally commissioned or what's nationally commissioned and what different people's contracts look like.
But it's hard work, but it's absolutely possible.
And I've tried to tweak
the collective action this time.
We did a menu a couple of years ago and this time it's been monthly, one action, cumulatively.
This month, for July, we're going to be looking at shared care.
