And so of course, of course it can be scary to maybe visit it.

Um, as far as support goes for my adoptive family.
So at the time that all this was happening, I was not yet in reunion with my paternal side.
Unfortunately, um,
The only thing I knew about my mom growing up in this open but not really open adoption was that she had passed when I was young.
So I haven't had the privilege of reunion with her, but I do have a couple of family members on that side that I've found.
But no one was quite in the picture yet when all this was going on.
So the only support I did have were my adoptive parents, which, you know, intentional or not, there is a bias of protecting that relationship when we talk about adoption with our adoptive parents.
Unfortunately, mine have not been super supportive of me reckoning with adoption at all.
It makes them very uncomfortable.
I think that they weren't given grief language for their own infertility, which led them to adopt.
And so it's been a lot of years of not really being able on a psychological level to talk about this stuff with me.
And so I haven't, I haven't really had their support as I've gone along, which has been very hard.
I absolutely think that those who adopt due to infertility, yes, absolutely.
We do see a microcosm of folks who are adopting for the reasons that obviously that's one of the biggest
And so I think grief counseling can be really scary, but I think that it is absolutely necessary.
I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that intent matters more than impact when it comes to adoption.
I think we all skate around on we being just like our collective societal narrative skates around on, oh, well, we mean adoption to be something that's good and protective for kids.
So it is.
