This is what I was told.

You know, this is where some of the religious teaching comes into play of, you know, who's a sinner and who's worthy of relationship and time.

Right.

But yeah, they didn't feel my adoptive parents didn't feel it'd be safe for me to know her at such a young age.

I think they thought maybe it would confuse me.

And then, of course, when I'm three, it became a non-entity.

And my dad was already a non-entity because there were some things told to them that weren't true.

And she told the lawyer or the lawyer told them that we didn't know who dad was.

So there was no chance there.

But yeah, when mom passed, like then it was a non-entity.

But I think they were convinced that she tried to take me away from them, which is that a safety issue to me or to them, you know, afraid of her influence on me.

There were a lot of interesting fears that were kind of projected there.

But as it was told to me, she just wasn't a safe person for me to be around.

And that was not true.

Yeah.

And I absolutely agree with what you're saying.

I think on their level, um,

the being a sinner was definitely the unsafe thing because, uh, the religion I grew up in, it turns out it was a lot evangelical Christianity is where I was at.

And it's a lot about image, at least the way that was practiced in my home.

It's a lot about, we gotta, we gotta look the right way.
