And that's the majority and took away their funding early.
So they just had to shut down.
And you know what the crazy thing is about this, Amy?
Only 10% of research grants even went to women's health research.
And we had to fight for that.
You would think that the medications we have and the treatments that we have apply to women, but most of that research is actually done on men.
And women are different.
Our bodies react differently.
We're half the population.
And we honestly don't know whether the medications that we're using affect us in the same way that they do the test population.
So we need women's health research.
But there is good news.

Oh, I'm so excited to share this with you.
So the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, my college, so proud of them, have collaborated with the Society for Women's Health Research and the Women's First Research Coalition to unveil the national strategy to close the women's health gap.
They're calling this the moonshot for women's health.
They are calling on Congress to invest $20 billion over 10 years to transform women's health research, care, and outcomes.
And that might not feel like anything that's going to get traction right now.
And it might not right now.
