And they can worry, oh, my goodness, my sleep now is suddenly really terrible quality.
What can I do?
So a couple of things I would say.
First of all, that kind of disruption is natural.
It's going to happen.
If you are covered in sweat, of course you're going to wake up.
And all you have to do is change your pyjamas, maybe if you're sleeping on a towel, just to help soak up that, just whip the towel off.
Accept that you're going to have a bit of fragmented sleep.
Yeah.
Try to do things that can reduce the symptoms.
So I'm not saying that everyone should have HRT, but if that's suitable for you and it helps you to reduce those symptoms, then your sleep as a knock-on effect will reduce.
Keep yourself cool.
You do the practical things at night.
Like I said, sleep on a towel perhaps.
because then it makes it easier if you do wake up covered in sweat, your bed isn't now unusable because you can just replace that, have a change of clothes nearby, have a misting water spray, maybe sleep with a fan, these kinds of things that are practically going to make it easier for you to fall back to sleep again.
But secondly, it's really important to not freak out about it, because like I said, it's natural.
And also, this is really, really fundamental.
We have these things called sleep cycles.
So everyone throughout the night, we don't sleep.
Sleep isn't like an on-off switch.
