So I call one of my senior partners.

I say, hey, can you come in and help me?

He says, I can't.

I'm not available.

No.

So you're like, uh...

I'm not 20 years in, I'm four years in still.

It's like, yeah.

So I said, all right, we're going to take this slow.

And actually, it's funny.

I shared this with Sanjay Gupta and he said he does this a lot.

I said, I took the retractor blades out.

I took a step back and said, all right, we're going to go very slowly here.

this is Ed who has a cyst in his brain and this is his scalp now this is his skull this is the covering in the brain the dura this is the cortex okay I'm gonna put the blades in again I put the blades in okay I'm retracting the blades I put the open up to the area I come down a little bit more and

And just in the upper left-hand field on the microscope, I saw this little wisp of whiteness.

I'm, oh, there it is, there it is.

So I angled up a little bit more.

I came up and what had happened was the cyst was like a cherry on a stem and it had moved away from where it was supposed to be.

And it was smaller than my brain had thought it was.

I looked at the scan and my brain thought it was a certain size, but it was actually smaller than that.
