Yeah.
And it's an operation that I've done many times before, but I hadn't done recently because I had been handing a lot of my tumor patients over to one of my partners.
So I'm getting ready to go in, trying to psych myself up.
And I get a phone call from my father's physician.
And my father was, you know, my mentor and just a leader, a huge leader in my life.
And the news was bad that he had cancer and his prognosis was really poor.
Right before you're about to go into surgery.

And so I'm in my car and I'm saying to myself, I don't think I can do this.
Like, I don't think that this is a good time to do surgery.
You're distracted.
You're not going to be at your best.
What if something happens and you'll never forgive yourself, right?
So I decided to cancel the surgery.
And I walked in the hospital to go talk to the patient.
And as I'm walking down the hallway to talk to him, I see it's not just him in his room.
It's his wife and it's his three daughters.
He's ready to go.
