There are also sort of lifestyle recovery based programs such as Smart Recovery, where they look at the four different aspects of life.

We've got a Fourth Valley recovery community up here where they have like an Olympics every year and do cool and funky stuff.

When you're an addict, you end up in isolation.

It's just you there.

You're pushing your family and your friends apart.

But getting into recovery is all about networking, making connections.

When my mum killed herself and I was in recovery, that was a very stressful time.

And I could have gone back to my old default way of using.

But I went to a meeting as soon as I could.

Told my boss I couldn't be at work anymore.

Went to a meeting.

And there was someone there who had been through something similar.

And we got to share that.

And I didn't have to go back to my old

coping mechanisms so it's all about talking to people who've had similar lived experience.

I hope I never find out about what it's like to lose a child.

or something so severe like that.

But I don't think I could go back to that old way of doing things.
