They want to try to keep it that way.
And for those who are looking there, they haven't been able to find exactly what's helpful because they've tried this, they've tried that, it hasn't worked out the way they anticipated.
But hopefully in the future, it gets to the point where there are going to be more options available that you can look and try different things, things that are more effective than what currently exists.
And then maybe that will make it more worthwhile, like that initial entry point into the support system.
Yes, I believe that too.
It works on both levels.
At a public health level, I definitely have seen it's becoming more recognized.
Especially in contrast to in the previous episode, we talked a bit about responsible gambling.
Responsible gambling is more of the industry's framing of what's going on.
Ultimately, we're trying to get these folks gambling in a more responsible way and in a safer way.
So that we can keep them gambling.
So it's not about how do we make gambling unnecessary for them?
It's about how do we ultimately keep them engaged and maybe at a lesser extent.
That's usually not the case.
The reality is it ends up just any most responsible gambling tools and measures don't have the same effectiveness as real recovery support measures that make gambling feel unnecessary as a result of the journey that someone can go through there.
On the public health side, I've seen that as a reaction to responsible gambling.
So it's almost like, okay, here's where the industry is focused on.
Now we're focused on almost attacking the industry in a way, saying like, oh, the industry is causing this.
It's not that people are causing it themselves necessarily.
It's the industry, because of how it's been designed and engineered, we're putting the responsibility on them.
