They
I think I read somewhere they total around two million miles flown over their lifetime migrating.
Um
they basically don't have any legs 'cause they're flying all the time.
I just I think they're incredible birds and their numbers have dropped s like massively.
I think it's something like
uh seven and ten or something like that since the mid nineties.
Um so kind of
of insects, but actually they really rely on, you know, the nooks and crannies of our buildings to nest like old barns and we just don't
have as many of those as we used to.
Everything's very sealed up now and so kind of putting out things like uh d uh Swift boxes does make a really big difference.
Yeah.
Um but I find it very sad how much they've decreased.
I'm Sean Bean and this is Get Birding.
The Lake District, actually, is incredible.
I have such a special memory of seeing a golden eagle there.
All of my holidays as a kid were birdwatching, because my parents also love birdwatching.
And so I feel like I've got so many special memories around the country, but in particular, whenever the sun comes out, it makes me think about, we used to go down to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Birdwatching, would really recommend.
Very beautiful.
