And also the Lake District, actually, has incredible... I have such a special memory of seeing a golden eagle there as a child and just incredible, incredible birds.
Have you seen one?
I mean, we'd been walking for hours and I just remember we went round this mountain and it just, like, flew out and it was...
Magnificent, basically.
But there were just so many spots around the UK where actually you don't realise that there's incredible stuff going on.
I used to love going on kind of British holidays.
But also I'm very lucky.
I've gone...
All over the world, seeing birds, and I've seen, I think, over 6,000 bird species now, which is crazy.
But I think one very special holiday was my mum was quite unwell when I was a kid, so we went to South America for six months to kind of deal with that, and it was just this.
obviously incredible thing i saw hummingbirds in particular fed in love with um incredible habitats but actually also the um people we met i it was kind of this weird thing where it was very sad saw a lot of environmental destruction but also met so many people so many communities who'd set up kind of eco tourism projects and were fighting really hard to
save them and i think that kind of inspired me at quite a young age to try and also save birds kind of like i said this thing of if you like them you've got to try and help them yeah south america that sounds incredible i when i was about eight i decided i want to see all the hummingbirds in the world and there are a lot of them how many species of birds are in in the uk a few six six thousand worldwide so get comparison 300 ish
I've seen 400 and something in the UK.
Have you?
A lot of stuff kind of ends up here by accident, I guess.
Yeah, like migration and things like that.
We've got a really nice spread, though.
What's your favourite bird in the UK?
Have I asked you that?
It changes every time.
