So a lot of these things, sugar and food, environmental toxins, toxic behaviors, stress, not getting sleep, they all impact inflammation levels, which impact sperm quality.

So we've got to think about sperm quality in addition to just making the sperm.

Yeah.

So I've been a fertility doctor for over a decade.

And when I first entered the field, we would say one out of eight couples would have infertility.

Now it's one out of six globally.

And in the United States, for couples trying to get pregnant for the first time, it's one out of five.

In the same timeframe, we see sperm counts are dropping globally.

But when we see an increase in infertility across the board, we still see this about one-third due to sole male factors, one-third due to sole female factors, and then a third of couples will have both a male and female factor.

So that's also important data too, because sometimes I'll have a woman sit across from me and say, well, I have endometriosis.

I'm the problem.

It's all me.

He's fine.

And we absolutely do not know that, right?

We have to test both people.

We have to presume that egg and sperm quality are important for both people no matter what the tests show.

And that's something I'm really passionate about because there's also this narrative, oh, I can just freeze my eggs or I can just do IVF and that will take care of anything.

But even when we're in the IVF lab every day, I can only work with the eggs and sperm that I am given.

And so the quality of those eggs and sperm still matter immensely when it comes to getting to the outcome we want.

It is harder to know about the quality of sperm without doing a test, without looking at sperm under the microscope and seeing how it looks.
