One of the problems with building bad is that the CFMEU could be paid out to turn a blind eye to worker exploitation by companies.

So the purpose of the union movement, which is to protect workers, is the opposite.

And yet that whole little corrupt sphere there has bastardized what the union movement is all about.

Now, again, something that will probably blow up a conservative political career.

I'm a member of a union.

I've been a member of the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation, and now I'm a member of the Health Services Union.

So, you know, my soup is with an industry fund.

I know what the value of organised labour is in a country, but this is where the balance has been completely lost and we need to overcome people's apathy, but we also need to make them realise that even if they are a labour voter, this is bad for the union movement.

They're really bad.

What's going on down in Victoria?

If it gets understood properly.

Is it because it's complicated?

No, it's because we haven't had a royal commission.

And who calls that?

Is that a Victorian government or a federal government?

It's got to be a Victorian one.

I think from COVID days, my understanding is that a federal government could call one, but then it wouldn't necessarily have the powers that a state government one would.
