Thank you for having me, Mindy.
As I was sharing beforehand, could not wait to get here as well and super excited to dive into this.
I mean, I'm wondering why that number and that stat isn't in my new book because what that is beautifully describing, I'm shocked I missed it, is what I have and many of um practitioners are now calling the inner child.
It is that literal hard wiring at a time during our experience where we didn't have language, we didn't have logic.
What we had were sensations and survival driven.
Responses.
And then as our brain is growing, learning, taking in information from our environment, we are quite literally developing the roadmap for exactly as that stat was describing, for things like how we handle unpredictability, conflict, disconnection, and generally speaking, how we get our needs met.
And so then for the large majority of us, even though our bodies grow, we age, our circumstances,
Completely different geographical locations yet.
That inner child, all of those programmed habits come with us.
And I think that's probably about a decade ago, plus where I found myself feeling very frustrated alongside of the lines a lot of clients that I was seeing, that it didn't seem like insight awareness was able to shift those patterns.
So that's really where this work and this book in particular.
has grown out of the insight and understanding that I now have for why that early time is so important, for what is exactly learned and why in that early childhood kind of time frame.
And then of course what we can do to create the change that we deserve.
It's it's a pattern that lives not only in our our mind.
And this is where I really saw kind of foundational transformation that happens.
It's a pattern that also lives in our body.
It's a felt sense, it's instinctual reactions.
It's those moments where, right, our response is disproportionate.
It's for a lot of us the identities that we play that we don't seem to understand why it is that we keep repeating the same patterns.
