Because I think sometimes people go, I'm really upset about the thing that happened at work.

And you're saying upset, but if you go, Oh, you're disappointed, they go, No, I'm not disappointed.

What do you mean, disappointed?

That's not what I was saying.

And you can get derailed when you try to paraphrase back sometimes when people are very upset about things.

Especially like in a conflict situation, when you paraphrase incorrectly, people get very upset.

Like I'm not, I'm not losing control right now, or I'm not upset, or I don't know why you're saying that I'm, you know, the one that's uh can't handle this, you know, all those things, we don't like those things as humans.

So the mirroring is very safe in that way because you're simply just taking their word.
