And so just from a research standpoint, the the average wait time for a teacher is three seconds from the time they ask a question to when they answer their own question.

Um so no, but the research says that we usually t typically as humans when we ask a question we wait three seconds before we answer it.

Your comment, Meredith, is basically you've got to leave the blank.

You've got to leave it there.

Even if it takes more than three seconds, we've got to give the space.

I think it puts more pressure if we keep the three seconds going, because most people will answer within that time frame.

But if you're habitually answering asking questions and answering them, you might shorten your own typical wait time as a communicator and you don't want to do that.

You want to be comfortable with the spacing.

So that challenges all of us to think about

Are you answering too quickly sometimes?

And are you leaving space for other people to answer?

Because the prompting really creates that.

You do have to be quiet.

And you have to like we said, you have to hang around for the answer.

But you have to I I mean, I think part of this too is I hear this a lot from people in communication training.

They'll say, Well, people just don't know how to communicate with me.

And I'll say, Okay, but what are you giving them?

And these are three tools that we could be giving them.
