I would say serendipity.
I never did plan to go into medicine.
I was in the army because of an army scholarship for college and ended up being branched in a medical unit.

After college, I was in Korea.
It's called a platoon leader, you know, in an evacuation platoon in the 2nd Infantry Division.
But being around doctors, being around medicine, I thought, oh, this is very interesting.
So when it was time to leave the army, I was wanting to do something different.
I thought this is medicine was at that point quite interesting to me.
That's right.
We were called mature medical students.
