That's quite normal.
But if someone has floaters in their 30s, again, I think getting checked out would be reasonable.
They probably have a good chance nothing is wrong, but it would be worth checking into.
So there are a number of reasons people get cataracts earlier in life than average, which would be 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond.
That person might have had trauma in their past.
They might have certain medical conditions that predispose them or have taken steroid medicines.
It's really hard to answer a question like that without an exam.
It very much depends.
So, you know, the eye diseases that are of greatest concern happen more frequently as we age.
So we say basically you should have an eye exam in your youth, certainly by about the age of 30.
But at 40, if you haven't had a complete dilated exam, you should.
And then after that, it depends on your risk factors.
After the age of 65, most people are advised about every year.
Of course, if you have an eye condition, you're going to be told to be coming back more frequently.

There are quite a few things.
And, you know, people sometimes think I'm getting old.
It's normal to lose vision.
That's really not true.
No patient gets off the hook just for age in my clinic.
