But you're absolutely right.
I think that can change the mindset, right?
If we can frame it that we have a relationship with our body, right?
So like, yes, there is a relationship with food, with our body.
And if we can shift that and tell ourselves that, I think it is easier for people to be a little kinder.
Right.
We ignore it and we hate it.
It's so unfortunate.
I can't predict the future.
But it's so interesting because I think in one sense, we have come a long way in terms of the treatment of obesity, having some of these medications available, people seeking treatment, people talking about it openly, normalizing some of it.
And on the flip side, I think there is an obsession that has continued with, I hate the term, but I'm going to use it because it's like a headline with like shrinking bodies, right?
And it's scary because when individuals are on these medications,
that they're not necessarily indicated for, there's then the comparison of, well, if they're on it and they're losing weight, should I be on it?
Should I be losing weight?
What's wrong with me?
I didn't think they were overweight, but if they're, you know, like kind of this comparison happens and then we internalize those messages and that leads to more shame and guilt as well.
Right.
So, you know, I don't really know.
I know in the field, you know, there's more medications coming out.
