So people think of lying as this horrible thing that criminals do.
We lie all the time.
Someone at the checkout at Coles.

Imagine if the poor person at the checkout at Coles, if they actually heard how everyone is.
They would never get home.
Yeah, we wouldn't have relationships.
We wouldn't have jobs.
We wouldn't have friendships.
I don't think the human race would have survived if everybody could tell when someone was lying.
I was a teenager when that case was active.
It really, really seems that a lot of the assumptions of guilt, and I wonder how much it played into juries too,
People assumed the way she acted meant that she'd actually killed her baby because her behavior, people thought she didn't act like a grieving mother.
What was her behavior then?
that they were pointing to.
So she came across as really quite cold and she wasn't crying.
And there was one stage where they had the little baby outfit and they were talking about how they'd found it.
