I don't personally know of any particular reason why that would be appearing on this this list.
But there is a significant difference between your chance of death in summer than in winter.
It's true, actually, that hospital mortality data does back up what you're saying, and we can see that the highest number of deaths in hospital does occur in the first and the second weeks of January, where we have about 4,300 deaths occurring in hospital.
But that's happening against a background of much higher numbers, 80,000, 90,000 people coming into hospital.
Whereas in the last weeks of December, we have a lower number of deaths, just over 4,000.
But there's only 63,000 people coming in.
So it's a much smaller number of people coming in.
So your risk of death over that period is, in fact, much higher.
