I firmly believe and I do do that myself.
If one of 'em gets way too big a frame on 'em and their calves don't look like the rest of 'em, they are a candidate.
One, the cull value on those cows is extremely high right now, just from a Packer standpoint.
So now's a great time to shape your herd up 'cause the the small cows on one hand are still really valuable.
Big cows are worth a lot of money.
And the middle frame size cows are probably the ones that are most efficient in the commercial cow operation.
So in my opinion, now's a great time to get your cow herd more uniform in size and shape, particularly if you're trying to cull and maintain numbers at a certain level.

Her biggest problem you're saying is her light calf.

If it's because of utter structure genetics, if you think it's genetics, then I'd probably cull the cow.
If it's mastitis, just lack of milk production.
I have seen some young cows though that don't do very good on their first calf, but the second calf is pretty good as far as milk production and they wind up being those middle cows.
So one, if you have some of that knowledge
and she has rebred.
