In certain environments, typically in public environments, someone cannot... Airplanes for this friend, airplanes.
Someone cannot relax their muscles well to start their urine stream.
And it can get them very uncomfortable, put them at risk for urinary tract infections, cause like a lot of urinary retention.
So there's training that you can do that we actually walk through to get you to relax in public.
I'm sorry, relax in the privacy of your home.
Then like use a mirror to kind of like somebody else is in the room with you, even though it's you.
Start urinating with the door open.
Start having somebody nearby at your home.
So like little gradual baby steps to help you teach your muscles to relax.
Also working with a therapist because there's an anxiety component to this, to just overall nervous system downregulation can be helpful.
So some of the biggest things are all genders have pelvic floors and all genders can have pelvic floor issues.
So this is not just a female problem.
It's also just not an aging and postpartum problem.
So at any age or stage, folks can have pelvic floor issues that need addressing.
And it's also never too late.
I treat women in their 60s, 70s, 80s, and they are still benefiting from learning these exercises.
