And then later again, she travels then with Constance and her mother, and she becomes very ill at that stage.

And then she's sent to Italy, to Portoghera, to recuperate.

And it's there, really, that in Italy, she stays with George MacDonald, the writer George MacDonald, and his wife,

at their residence.

And of course, George MacDonald and his wife, they had, they were, the whole family was riddled really with TB and they had kind of lived in this milder climate.

So it was there really that she's getting introduced to more of this kind of European thought and where she meets Esther Roper as well.

I think it's fair to say that actually poetry is the one constant that we see throughout her life.

She starts writing poetry and thinking about it.

She's inspired really as a young child when she's out around the Lizardale estate.

She starts roving around the area and she's very influenced by the look of the land, but also the mythology that surrounds it, especially Queen Maeve.

Of course, the Queen of Connacht, who's reputedly buried at the Cairn of Knocknery.

She's very influenced by all of these things.

And she starts writing Celtic mythology.

And the first person really to latch on to the value of her writing and how good her poetry was,

is George Russell, who then insists that she starts publishing in the Irish homestead.

And this actually connected as well with her idea of things like the cooperative movement and economic value for tenant farmers.

But her poetry continues

To shape every part of her life that she moves through, she writes poetry about it.

So whether it's something personal like meeting Esther Roper, she writes a love poem essentially about meeting her.

And it carries on through all her work campaigns.
