They're still processing what's going on.
The nurses and the cardiologists do say, okay, you're a great candidate for cardiac rehab.
We'd really like you to go.
But that's the only message they get.
We know that they only process or take in one fifth of the information we tell them when they're in hospital.
And so they hear that and then they go home, takes a couple of weeks to get into the program and they go back to normal life and they think, oh, I don't need to do that program.
I think the big piece that we're missing is the why.
So we really need to be spending time telling the patients why to go for all those reasons I mentioned earlier.
But there's also other barriers.
So they don't have time.
The program's run during the day.
They've gone back to work.
Things as simple as how do I get to the hospital?
I have to drive my car.
There's no car parks.
The car parking's expensive and on and on and on.
Yes, we do.
So we know that our more severe heart attack patients are more likely to attend, which is good to see.
Interestingly, our analysis showed that regional and rural patients, so if they went to a regional or rural cardiac rehab program, so I assume that's where they would also live, they were more likely to attend, which hasn't been shown before.
But I think that's just indicative of the geography of Victoria.
