So we found, unfortunately, that only 19% of patients were actually going.
So this was specifically public patients that had had
a percutaneous coronary intervention, so a stent or a catheter through their heart to unblock their artery.
So it was specifically in that cohort because that's the data that we had access to.
Of those that were going, the majority of them, 81% in fact, attended more than one session of cardiac rehab.
So that was pleasing to see because we want them to go.
We showed in a previous piece of work that 85% of all stent patients or PCI patients across Victoria were being referred.
So that was a very pleasing number.
But then when we followed up this public cohort, we could see that only one fifth were going.
And there's a caveat to that because there were some COVID years in the analysis.
So I hope that the number is a bit less
During that period, it's actually higher.
Because of lockdown.
Yeah.
And some programs did have to close.
But why are people not going?
I mean, that's very multifaceted.
I think there's a huge education piece there.
So they're in hospital now for only two days after a heart attack, which is so short.
It's a whirlwind experience.
