We need to see more chief wellness officers who are nurses representing the whole system.
So I loved the work, loved understanding how deeply well-being interconnects.
With professionalism.
And that's why I'm thrilled to have the job that I have now because I can put my money where my mouth is and really drive this professionalism.

And the crazy thing is, Renee, is that we have the time to do it.
I could talk about this for five hours straight and I won't, but I love talking so I could, but I won't.
Here's, in my opinion, the root of burnout and healthcare of all healthcare professionals.
Capitalism.
And what I mean by that, capitalism functions.
So commerce functions because of scarcity mindset.
If you don't have enough of something, you can charge more for what you have.
Even if you have enough of it, you can say you don't have enough of it and charge more for what you have.
You can say you should be grateful to have this job, even though I'm not paying you enough because you should be grateful to work at X, Y, Z, Health.
Leaders are trained to lead from a place.
Scarcity.
And I was trained that way too.
That's the mindset in business and healthcare.
Something that I've learned, and this is coming out in my book that's coming out on compassion, which we'll talk a little bit more later.
When leaders lead from a place of scarcity, there's this idea that we don't have enough time.
