It was like, at what point do you say, no, I won't do this?

There's a case that I use in my classes, it's a Harvard Business School case, about a young man who really has a lot to prove in his life, and his boss starts asking him to fudge the numbers.

And he's the CFO of the company.

And, you know, it's really sort of like approving expense reports of things that really are not kosher.

Exactly.

But, you know, you're seeing the story from this young guy's perspective.

And at what point do you say no to your boss or quit your job?

Sometimes what happens though is you get so far into it that you're putting sort of, you're now so deep into it, you can't leave.

Now you're also culpable.

Exactly.

Yeah.

And I really, you know, sometimes young people are so in a hurry.

I see this.

They're so in a hurry to be successful as measured by, you know, making a lot of money.

And I really try to urge them to just slow down, just not get out over your skis because patience, right?

This is a long game.

Yes, you might see someone who like won the lottery essentially by instantly at a very young age having early success.

Mm-hmm.

But it doesn't preclude you're doing it in the long run.
