Let me tell you one that is, well, in fact, this book is the result of a conversation I had with someone sitting on an airplane next to me.

Really?

I was flying across the country, early, early morning flight, could have just shut my eyes and gone to sleep.

The man sitting next to me was a publisher.

And I started to chat with him.

We talked for a good long time.

And at some point, I pulled out a book proposal.

I took a little risk.

And I said, guess what?

I've got a book proposal right here on my computer.

And he was kind enough to look at it.

And, you know, he said, this is very nice, Tina, but not really for us.

I said, okay, no problem.

But guess what?

At the end of the flight, we exchanged contact information.

And he sent me a text as I was walking off the plane.

I stayed in touch.

I was teaching a class, my creativity class at Stanford.

And I thought, you know, gee, I'm doing a project this quarter.
