And more often than not, we're not just throwing hormones at someone.
We're utilizing herbal medicine.
We're making sure nutritional deficiencies are addressed.
We are making sure gut health is, gut health is huge for how you tolerate your hormones.
We have to make sure you're pooping every day before we put estrogen into that system.
We have to make sure that your visceral fat is under control before we give you something that might make it worse.
We have to make sure that, and why do I say that?
Because testosterone therapy will indeed make things worse if a woman is aromatizing badly enough.
And that could be genetic, that could be
just the way she's built.
That could be her lifestyle factors.
We have to make sure your lifestyle is dialed in because if we take a hot mess of inflammation, i.e.
the typical American middle-aged woman who is metabolically compromised, under-muscled, over-fat, not judging, that's just how most of us are built, middle-aged, and then we throw estrogen at that body, it doesn't necessarily go well.
And in most cases, it doesn't go well, in my experience.
I have never found...
HRT, just blanket approach, easy.
The only patients I've seen it go easily in and as expected are women who are decently lean, exercising frequently in really great shape, eating well, metabolically optimized.
Those women I can apply HRT to and have some semblance of hope that it's going to be a pretty simple case.
More often than not, it's like trying to hit a moving target.
And the more inflamed, the more adiposity, the more metabolically compromised, 94% of US adults are metabolically compromised.
