Are we heading toward all of us starting to wear much more monitoring devices and we will sort out this evidence and eventually it'll be really good for us and we'll be able to stop heart attacks and predict heart attacks before they happen or arrhythmias?
Or do you think for actually quite a long time where the better thing is to do what you did and slightly scale back on the wearables?
So overall, for our listeners who do not have palpitations that they're worried about, they're in basically...
good health they're doing their best with all the all the things we've talked about on previous episodes do you think they need to go and buy a smart watch or any other piece of heart monitoring tech will their lives be improved or for those people who are basically well they're not worried about anything can they save their money and spend it on healthy food you absolutely don't need a smart watch to have a healthy heart and a healthy heart lifestyle

It's a pleasure.
Thank you very much for having me.

Pranav made this so clear that if you diagnose AF the way we've always done it, we know about the risks versus benefits of treating that.
When you diagnose rhythms that went previously undetected and you start treating them, it's not clear if the risks of treatment, which are very serious, bleeding, if those risks do outweigh the benefits of picking up the arrhythmia.
I think we all have a default to going, well, treatment is treatment.
It's there in the word.
It's good for us.
It's good to prevent things.
It's good.
Knowledge is good.
And actually, at the moment, with a lot of this stuff, knowledge is great.
But if you don't know what to do with that knowledge, you have to be very careful you don't do something that does more harm than good.
I think all physicians have a group of patients whose symptoms come from a level of anxiety about their bodies.
And it's really hard to say to those patients, I think your symptoms are due with anxiety because it sounds so dismissive.
