Elon liked to always talk about how there's like 7,000 parts in a car and any single one of those parts can be the reason why you can't produce the car in the factory that day.
And so there's an immense urge to just like simplify, simplify, simplify, simplify.
And I think that is coming now to data centers on the power side.
Because when you think about
the power side of a data center, you've got power electronics in the rack, you've got power conversion in the UPSs, you've got transformers outside the data hall, you've got main switchgear panels, you've got the large step-up transformers.
Everything that you have on the load side
you also need to land on the generation side somewhere, right?
And the more of those steps you can remove on both sides, both on the generation side and the load side, the more you can, more of an elegant architecture you can deliver.
Yeah, well, I don't just mean more efficient.
I mean just less objects.
Yeah.
Like if you can remove the need for the low voltage switchgear and the low voltage distribution panel, and you can remove the need for the medium voltage transformer in the data center,
then it frees up that capacity to support people building power plants that need that hardware or the other way around.
But the point is, yes, we're growing energy generation and consumption faster now in the U.S.
than we have in like two decades.
The answer to that, the way to accomplish that growth is to step back and say, are we doing it the best way we could do it?
You know, from the Roadster in 2006 to the Model 3 that Tesla makes today, the number of parts that have been deleted, simplified, elegantly combined, you know, subcomponents turned into subsystems, turned into systems and fully optimized.
That's how you got...
$150,000 to $200,000 Tesla Roadster to a $40,000 Model 3, right?
And we're in that phase of the data center build-out outside of the compute.
