asx listed companies yeah quite simple it's taxed as its own entity or it passes on dividend pays its own dividends and receives dividends and manages a portfolio of asx listed shares so you have a quick look at what it looks like and it's cba bhp csl transurban macquarie all the biggest it's essentially very similar to an index fund yeah but you're buying it in a in a more unique wrapper on the asx

And the benefit of that is that they're able to smooth the dividend payments that you receive.

Exactly.

So it doesn't just pass through like a trust would just pass through if you're buying an ETF or everything just gets passed through to your capital gains.

Yeah, and if you're trading, you get capital gains.

This one is, it all sits within that company.

If there's a capital gain, it's a profit of the company, and the company itself declares a dividend.

And that's why, essentially, the dividend didn't drop at all during COVID.

And when the banks cut their dividends by 50%, they basically kept it stable all the way through.

And I kind of had that precursor that I wouldn't hold it as the only holding because I've seen quite a few people come into us with just an NLIC or two.

And that's the only way they're getting income and we're very concerned about that.

So our advice is always to add more diversification around it.

i like that that's a that's a good that's a cool another solid one like you yeah yeah it's it's a so it's similar to your a200 or your vas etf in terms of holdings though it has a bit of international exposure as we've done yeah yeah i think it's outside the top 25 i'm pretty sure yeah not a lot it'd be i think maybe five percent or so and then you can get their full financial statements i think and see those smaller holdings at some point well you didn't tell us the dividend

3.2% plus franking.

So not significant, probably slightly below the ASX, which I think is about three and a half, 3.6.

But it's smoother.
