No, I think, but under Lahore, I think there was an uneasy accord, but it's so different.
And I've got one great anecdote actually about that.
And I need to preface this by saying it's possibly apocryphal, but I have heard it from a reasonably good source.
And it kind of goes like this, that
that when Grizz would fly up to Auckland for All Black camps or matches, Hardy would always offer to pick him up from the airport, which is the welcoming thing to do.
So sure enough, he'd go and pick Grizz up from the airport.
And then on the way back, he'd invariably say something like, oh, look, just before we go off to the Poe, the Poe's on the North Shore.
I've just got to pop into work for a couple of minutes.

go in, and Hardy would go, come in, come in, you know, just in case it takes a little bit longer, you know, cinema office is comfortable.

And as it was explained to me, Hardy would always go into his office, he'd sit behind his desk in this lovely office in Fletcher Buildings, which was down in Penrose somewhere, and his seat was very tall, and he'd put Grizz in the seat on the other side of the desk, which was always much lower.

So he's in a position for a pair at the time.
And then almost without fail, one of the big executives would waltz into Hardy's office, sometimes even, I believe, Hugh Fletcher himself, and say something just casually along the lines of, oh, Hardy, how are you going with that Canada acquisition, mate?
And Hardy would say, oh, look, Hugh, look, really sorry, mate.
