I know that I've got flexibility money, but let's put 50% now into something that is going to give me a guaranteed inflation or even market-linked income stream every year for the rest of my life until I die.

When you get down the line, if your assets are much, much lower than what they otherwise would have been, the cost of aged care is generally a lot lower as well.
The cost of those- Oh, because it's subsidized by the government?
Partially subsidized by the government, but you're asset tested for a lot of these rates that you pay in home care packages or aged care living and things.
So if you've got heaps of money, the cost of care is going to be more.
Now-
I am certainly not an aged care specialist, and there are some wonderful advisors out there for people who are going to get to that stage in life when they do.
It's definitely worthwhile having a specialist on your side when you're having those conversations with those facilities and things.
Preparing for it early, such a good thing to do.
