They charged Brad with assaulting them, with resisting arrest, and then when it finally got to court years later,
The judge threw out all the charges and found that the police officers had colluded, that they copied each other's statements to ensure that they'd create a version of events that suited them, and that in fact one of the officers, the particular officer who'd done the most damage to Brad, had in fact, in effect, lied on the stand when he was asked about whether he had copied someone's statement.
That's about the worst thing you can say about a police officer because obviously you need a police officer to tell the truth when they go to court.
Now, that's what the courts found.
Then you look at what the police force found.
They ran two internal investigations into this matter.
The first internal investigation found that no excessive force had been used, despite there being CCTV and body-worn footage of the assaults on Brad, and it's clear as day what happened to him, and there's the medical records as well.
And then a second investigation which found no officer had been dishonest.
So there's this really strange situation where the police findings are in direct opposition to the findings of court.
And I think that should be concerning for all of us.
Exactly.
And there were two officers that wrote that exact same sentence with the exact same spelling mistake.
And there were other paragraphs that were word for word, except the names swapped around word for word.
I should note, of course, that there were some findings of misconduct in relation to the one officer who most badly attacked Brad.
His name's Mark Davis.
But we went and had a look because the other problem with these police investigations is they're opaque.
No one knows what happens.
Even Brad, his lawyers, had no idea.
So we went and had a look.
We found out that he'd been moved on from Blacktown Police Station and then we had a look online and we found an Instagram post saying,
