And he's now at a nearby police area command.
He's the youth liaison officer and he was giving a lecture about bullying to a bunch of high school kids.
Well, I mean, unfortunately, yes, I could believe that because that's exactly what we've seen time and time again.
And I should say, not just in this story.
I mean, I've on and off reported on police for decades and
You know, it's not a surprise.
You know, policing is a very difficult job.
There's a real sense of camaraderie that is created because of that.
And officers look out for each other because there's a lot of spurious claims.
But unfortunately, what happens is that kind of approach to things sometimes also bleeds into misconduct.
And there is a real war of silence within the police.
Yeah, well, as I said, it's certainly more concerning for the public at large because one might accept that an officer has a bad day and does something stupid and, you know, God forbid, bashes someone.
But what is really concerning for the public is if the police force as an entity
doesn't then ensure that that officer is held accountable.
There are other cases we've looked at where police officers have done very bad things and there's certainly been suggestions to us that it's not the first time that they've done it.
And the question is, if they'd been stopped previously, you know, would they not have committed these subsequent acts?
Yeah, I mean, again, you know, I've been on and off a police reporter covering crime for decades and I've got to say I've never seen a case like this.
It's just awful.
