Murdoch, who once led his storied family's prominent legal firm, is now serving a life sentence for the killings in a case that captured national tabloid attention and involved matters of drug abuse and money laundering and even the misdeeds of a court clerk later convicted of perjury.
Murdoch himself is not attending the appeal hearing.
