In any generation to figure out how to be a man is difficult.
Not as hard as being a woman.
Being a woman is much more difficult.
So we should all figure this out as men.
But I wrote this character and I wrote this book because I wanted to just open up the conversation of like, we don't need to be doing these things to feel like men.
Hubie, a lot of Hubie is me, except for one central defining factor, which is when I met my wife, I ran towards her.

Natasha had just broken up with somebody and decided to fire up the Raya app on her phone.
And in her post-breakup moment, matched with me, and I think we exchanged maybe two or three messages.
Then I just didn't hear from her.
She ghosted me for two years.
Yeah, for two years.
And I mean, when I exchanged one or two messages with her, I was like, oh...
I like this slideshow.
I like this person.
This person's intriguing to me.
I remember her.
When she messaged me two years later, I was just like... Well, I had to laugh.
