Yeah, like when I was there, there was a massive bushfire going through there, the fucking –

RFS helicopter was flying around dropping water and, you know, and so those guys were the ones that – but at the time at the Olympics, you know, like it was like, you know, the SAS tag.

And for me that was like they were the guys who I'd seen in books at the Iranian embassy siege, you know, the men in black, you know, black pyjamas with the gas masks and the shotguns, you know, and that was – and so when we got an opportunity to support them in their training, you know, we ended up at –

the old artillery, I think Rob talked about it, the old artillery school up in Middlehead and there was a section that was cordoned off and turned into a terrorist stronghold and we were the terrorists and the hostages and the tag basically came in and, you know, like we did a post-training, although it wasn't really a post for us.

We were just, you know, fucking there and,

But it was great, you know, and it was good.

You know, there were a couple of key guys that were in charge of us during that period of time when we were working with the guys from Perth and they were good guys, man.

You know, and we'd ask them questions and they were very patient with us because most of us were only in our sort of late teens, early 20s, you know, and –

But so, yeah, did that and then off to Timor.

I was in fucking eight platoon, Charlie Company.

Platoon commander was, I'll just say his initials, JB.

He ended up over at the regiment, like the officer.

The boys will know what I'm talking about.

Good set of sideburns on him back at

the day.

And yeah, he was my boss.

And Frank, the guy that I was telling you about, the big guy that came in, he was my platoon sergeant.

Bertie was in the platoon.
