It was fucking unreal.

And, you know, we'd mix, we'd do like green hat patrols, blue hat patrols.

So like the UN, you know, the high visibility street patrolling and then the green hat patrols like cam up,

You know, New Zealand helicopter Huey would drop us up in the weeds and we'd go on patrol for a few days.

And then we'd do other rudimentary shit like, you know, we supported the election that took place while we were over there.

So we did a lot of like, you know, sort of they call it like DAT, like riot control.

Like we're on standby in case there were riots in Dili with the elections and all that shit.

And then while I was over there, September 11 happened.

100%, bro, yeah.

No, look, I'll tell you, man, like there was a – I've said this story on another podcast.

I remember when the planes had hit or the first plane had hit and it was on a TV and a CP.

It was one of those shitty old fucking like flat screen box pieces of shit.

Yeah, the big ones, yeah.

But they had a feed going in there so they had like CNN, you know, like I think BBC or whatever and it was just on constantly, right, and then –

And everyone's going in and out going, shit, what the fuck's going on over in New York City?

You know, like some fucking passenger planes flying into a building, you know?

And then the second one, and that's when everyone was like, oh, you come in and have a look at this.

Like, you know, because then the first one was getting ready to come down and-

And I remember after the second one went down, and look, whatever your theory is on that, I don't want to get into that, but I remember one of the senior guys who was there said, boys, we're going to be going to war over this.

And at the time, I distinctly remember he said it.
