Once you have a child, like what it's like, like all of a sudden, nothing's important about yourself.
It's all about them.
So, you know, I wanted to set a good example for my son.
So after I met him, I, you know, I wanted to better myself.
So I went to law school to become a lawyer.
I had no intentions of ever going to law school and being a lawyer.
And he inspired me to do it.
It's something, it's like nature takes over and, you know, you just want to be better, be a better person, be a role model for your kid.
The one thing I didn't have was I didn't have a mentor, so I had to kind of learn everything on the fly, you know, on my own.
Everything I was learning in law school, I was teaching him while we were driving, so he had a little bit of a head start.
Well, it was like a one in a billion story.
I met my son when he was 10 years old.
Both of us didn't know each other or about each other.
And in Central Park, New York, that's where I was living at the time in New York City.
And it was just, I mean, and I always say this, it could not have turned out any better because it could have been a disaster.
I was a single guy at the time, you know, with...
no parenting skills and no intention of having kids uh you know anytime soon so it was uh it was definitely uh life-changing but it but it did work out amazing if you could go back to that time and show the edward of that time the single guy in new york if you could show him a photo of the two of you guys sitting here today what do you think he would say he wouldn't believe it
Well, I always, uh, something I, I say a lot is it, it was like nature versus nurture.
So when you, you know, anybody who's a parent will learn, you know, will know.
Once you have a child, like what it's like, like all of a sudden, nothing's important about yourself.
