I can't fathom what I would be doing today had that meeting in Central Park not happened. You know, I was the first person to go to college, you know, on my mom's side. That moment just changed everything.

Why did Edward decide to go to law school after meeting his son?

Now, you guys just finished recording your episode. First of all, how do you feel now on the other side of it? A little tired, but I'm good. A little tuckered out? Yeah. You know, it can be a grueling process, you know, sitting there talking to a camera for 90 minutes. But you guys were in there with one of our best interviewers. Shout out to Kofi. And I'm not just saying that, guys, because he's outside of the room looking at me right now. What would you say, Edward, is the number one lesson you want people to be able to take away from your story?
Well, it was like a one in a billion story. I met my son when he was 10 years old. Both of us didn't know each other or about each other. And in Central Park, New York, that's where I was living at the time in New York City. And it was just, I mean, and I always say this, it could not have turned out any better because it could have been a disaster. I was a single guy at the time, you know, with... no parenting skills and no intention of having kids uh you know anytime soon so it was uh it was definitely uh life-changing but it but it did work out amazing if you could go back to that time and show the edward of that time the single guy in new york if you could show him a photo of the two of you guys sitting here today what do you think he would say he wouldn't believe it
Now for Alex, this whole experience has been a little bit new for you coming into media, coming into podcasting. What is your impression of just what it takes to get to this level that you guys have been able to achieve together?
Yeah, it takes a lot of work, obviously. It takes a lot of long days, a lot of long nights. You know, fortunately, we've been able to, you know, figure out the recipe for success. And, you know, hopefully, you know, the people that are watching, you know, we'll, you know, learn a thing or two and, you know, maybe it'll inspire somebody. So, you know, we're happy to be here. You know, we're happy to be involved. It's been a pleasure.
