And then little did I know when I became a lawyer, I didn't really realize that you could be a really good lawyer if you know.

You figured out the aptitude for it.

Well, if you can make yourself good at it, it takes a lot of hard work and some talent.

When I first started out, I worked for a large firm in Philadelphia, and then Alex was a senior in high school at the time, and he played a lot of sports, and I wanted to see him play, because I had actually, I hadn't seen him play for the years before that, because I was in school.

So I moved to New Jersey, Northern New Jersey.

And so I watched his senior year, him playing basketball, soccer, and things like that.

And I always got very lucky because I worked for a small firm who gave me the opportunity to try cases, which is really important for young lawyers.

If you work for a big firm, you're like the 25th person on the totem pole.

You're never gonna get to try a case.

So here I was the guy and I just started trying cases and winning and quickly became a partner.

I was arguing in front of the Supreme Court within about a year and a half.

Then I started my own firm shortly thereafter, then started a second firm.

And then about 10 years ago, joined the firm I'm at now, Brock Eichler, which is a 95-lawyer firm, so it's a fairly big firm.

So a lot of hard work.

I had to make up for what I didn't know with just hard work.

That's what I did.

I literally worked seven days a week, 15, 20 hours a day to catch up to the other people because I didn't know how to do it, so I didn't learn it.

Oh, it's extremely important.

See, the one thing I didn't have was I didn't have a mentor.

So I had to kind of learn everything on the fly and on my own, which actually in the long run makes you a better lawyer because you're figuring out everything on your own.
