No, this felt like an accurate.
Character development.
And for a woman who's now in her 70s.
who in some ways might be sharper and still like pretty sharp-tongued, but in many ways slightly more mellow.
Also, I felt like you can say character Miranda Priestly, but at the end of the day, we all know
that this character was about Anna.
Do you know what I mean?
Like, this is Anna.
I didn't believe it.
But it's the Miranda Priestly this industry created when it beat her down and humbled her.
Like what I find most interesting about Anna is how she's withstood an industry that's experienced such monumental change and has humbled her.
Like she's maintained power to the public, but I would say behind the scenes probably has less power than ever given how the industry has changed so much and given where money lies.
Well, the power is no longer in the hands of the reader buying the magazine.
And she had so much power over that reader.
Now she's got to contend with McKinsey consultants and tech billionaires.
And that is humbling.
And I think that humility coming out in the character was perfect.
Can we talk about the scene, though, that we did like where she was in the car with Andy and she said, I love working because that felt like it stuck out to me with like the opposite of a sore thumb, like a beautiful thumb.
