There's more recent people who have these eugenic C ideas and a recent prominent figure is Nick Bostrom. matched

So he wrote the book Superintelligence and basically coined this concept of an AI superintelligence. matched

uh of it among the AI boosters and you'll often hear the people who are very concerned about AI cite what's called the paper clip maximizer scenario. matched

And this is a thought experiment from the book, where Bostrom envisages an artificial intelligence given control over the production of paper clips designed to maximize that production would eventually destroy the whole world just to make more paper clips. matched

That's the the idea behind it. matched

He also wrote an email when he was a much younger man, where he argued that white people were inherently more intelligent than black people. matched

So he's written lots of interesting things. matched

On that email, he was forced to issue an apology after it came to the matched

come to light uh in more recent years, but he didn't necessarily withdraw the beliefs that were in that email. matched

But an Oxford investigation concluded that he was not a racist, so it's all good there. matched

Now, at Oxford, he founded the Future of Humanity Institute, which shut down in twenty twenty four, but it had nearly twenty years on the trot where it contributed to some cult like ideas among Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and technology theorists. matched

And when I say cult like, you've you covered this um sector and I've covered it for a long time. matched
